Besides the disinfectant product selected, you will still need the following products:
Pool Power Choc – to apply a shock treatment (see application sequence below)
Pool Power pH min/pH plus – to lower or increase the pH value of the swimming pool water
Testkit or test strips for measuring active chlorine and the pH value
Pool Power Anti-algue – to control and avoid algae formation
Pool Power Floc or Super Cubes – without other agents, swimming pool filters will not remove all dirt. Small particles of dirt will inevitably escape the filter, causing the water to cloud.
Pool Power Gel – to clean the pool edges at water line.
Application sequence:
1. Measure the pH value of your pool water using a test kit and correct where necessary by adding pH min or pH plus. The pH value should be between 7.2 and 7.6. When pH values are too high or too low, the water can cause irritation to the eyes or skin.2. Add the selected disinfectant according to the instructions on the label.
3. Give your swimming pool a shock treatment at the start of the season and thereafter, every 14 days. A shock treatment consists of a dosage of chlorine three times higher than normal. The shock treatment will destroy and oxidize accumulated organic substances. In this way, you can also prevent formation of so-called chloramines. Chloramines cause an annoying ‘chlorine odour’. This means that there is too little, not too much, chlorine in the water. Check the pH value and chlorine percentage regularly, using a test kit.
4. Weekly dosage of Pool Power Anti-algae.
5. Use (liquid) Pool Power FLOC, Solufloc (cartouche) or Super Cubes (flocculation is active over a longer period) to remove any dirt particles from the bottom or floating in the water.
