Directions for use

Pool Power Mini Quick Starter kits are simple and easy to use.

Chlorine consumption varies according to the weather conditions and can be affected by the pH level in the water. Pool Power Mini Quick Starter kits allow you to easily control the water quality in your pool.

Follow this step by step guide to keep your pool in good condition.

Start of use;
1) Fill the pool as per manufacturers instructions.
2) Use 3 tablets per 1000 litres of water using floating device (see instructions and water volume chart below)
3) Use test strips – reading should be between 2 and 5ppm (see instructions below)

Using the floating device
Always put the tablets in the blue and white floating device.
NEVER THROW TABLETS DIRECTLY INTO THE POOL, as it will damage the lining.

Instructions;
i) Screw off the blue lid
ii) Place tablets in the net
iii) Replace blue lid
iv) Place floating device in pool
v) Switch on the pump – this allows the water to circulate and help the tablets dissolve.

The lower blue ring on the floating device can be adjusted to allow the tablets to dissolve at either a fast or slow rate. The greater the number of visible holes the quicker the tablets will dissolve.

Water testing
i) Take 1 test strip out of bottle, quickly replacing the lid. DO NOT ALLOW MOISTURE TO ENTER THE TUB.
ii) Dip the test strip in the water for 1 second.
iii) Keep the strip horizontal and wait 10 seconds
iv) Compare the pH, to the coloured squares on the bottle.
v) Compare the chlorine to the coloured squares on the bottle

Maintaining the water quality
Test the water on a regular basis. The pH levels should be between 7.2 and 7.6. It is essential to keep the pH level between this range in order for the chlorine level to be easily maintained. If the PH level rises above this level do the following;
i) Using the scoop and the instructions on the side of the jar, dose the pool with the correct amount of powder. This differs according to the pH level and the water volume. Be careful NOT TO OVERDOSE.
ii) Wait 24 hours
iii) Retest the pool using the strips as instructed.

To adjust the chlorine by 1.5ppm place 1 tablet per 1000 litres.

Water Volume Chart
The instruction manual supplied with your pool should indicate the amount of water your pool holds.
Examples of popular pools are listed below.

Pool Diameter Wall Height Estimated Water Volume
Inflatable Round Pool
8 feet 76.2 cm 2,150 litres
12 feet 76.2 cm 5,100 litres
15 feet 106.98 cm 9,500 litres

Metal Wall Splasher Pool
12 feet 91.44 cm 10,000 litres
15 feet 91.44 cm 15,000 litres

Round Metal Wall Pool
15 feet 132.08 cm 19,200 litres
18 feet 132.08 cm 27,700 litres

Round Metal Wall Pool
12 feet 91.44 cm 8,700 litres
15 feet 106.68 cm 14,000 litres
18 feet 121.92 cm 24,000 litres

For example if you have a 12 feet inflatable round pool that holds 5,100 litres (at a rate of 3 tablets per 1000 litres) you will need 15 tablets at the start of use.
